New in 2010
:
Accelerated Performance
At the core of MotionBuilder 2010 is a real-time 3D engine that makes it one of the fastest animation tools on the market. New improvements and memory optimization of the core engine provide better overall performance. The nonlinear editing capabilities of the Story Tool are now faster than ever to allow optimal performance and playback of large story scenes.
Expanded Physics and Simulation Capabilities
Building on the simulation capabilities introduced in MotionBuilder 2009, this release unlocks a number of precision workflows that give animators the high-degree of control they need over simulations. For example, joints can now be used to connect multiple objects together for the purposes of a simulation. A new pose-to-pose workflow helps give animators the ability to guide or match their ragdoll simulations to user-defined poses.
Enhanced Interoperability
The interoperability between MotionBuilder and other Autodesk content creation software (Autodesk® Maya®, Autodesk® 3ds Max® and Autodesk® Softimage®) as well as Autodesk® HumanIK® middleware is now better than ever. The latest release gives users improved support for the transfer of Biped, as well as the MotionBuilder Template rig in Softimage. In addition, the MotionBuilder pose controls, character controls and the character definition list can now be used when
working with the updated HumanIK 4.0 plug-in.
Productivity-Geared Animation Workflows
Pose controls are now available for an object or group of objects in a scene. Support has also been added for userdefined keying groups that include any arbitrary property from any object in the scene. The Actor tool has been updated with better finger support and complete exposure in Python™ scripting and the Open Reality® SDK. |
